Our 52nd day was filled with quite a bit of exploring: we visited some "farm" buildings that once housed an early warning radar system and two anti-aircraft machine guns after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Then we stopped by the beach where the Klamath river meets the Pacific. And we even spotted some ocean *creature* riding a wave. ;-) What the animal was... you can be the judge of that.
On our way toward San Francisco, we stopped in Eureka to see what it was like - if it's as bad as people say. We visited the boardwalk and plenty of little shops, like Sock Hop and Mantova's Two Street Music. I bought a ukulele at the music store. :-) After we exhausted traversing Eureka, we headed to Avenue of the Giants in Humboldt Redwoods State Park. It was truly spectacular.
