Come join my family and I on our many adventures and follow Robin on her weight loss journey. I post tutorials and reviews on various subjects such as Premier Pro, the GoPro, Hotel Reviews, etc. You will also find covers that I have made using my Tyros 4, as well as original compositions.

The Johnny O Show

Day 75 was the final day of our long excursion - we didn't quite make it 12 weeks, it was an 11 week trip. But it was definitely an adventure; 9,405 miles, visiting 10+ states. We left on the 12th of September, and arrived home on November 26th. We can't wait for the next one. :-)

Ep. #678 Our 12 Week Adventure | Day 75 - Home, Sweet Home

For my last comparison, I switch between the FlexRadio and a FT-891. Just showing that you can get by with a much cheaper radio. Don't get me wrong, I love the Flex now that i'm used to it. If you're on a budget, you don't really need to have an expensive radio to get the job done. Get good antennas, a noise canceler, and just enjoy being on the air. If you're in an urban area you're not really
The answer may surprise you. There are some good options out there that will help you cut through the noise and they don't require a $5000 radio. Someone on the Flex forum was bashing the Flex Noise Blanker, and said their 7300 was better, so I put that to the test. Also I talk more about the MFJ 1026 noise canceler. I completely believe that if you have that, you are going to pretty much do as
Ok, I'm really starting to like the radio. Getting to see its potential. Getting everything installed and working. WSJT-X, JS8 Call, Rumlog-NG, fldigi, winlink, PC-ALE, SmartSDR. I really am thinking even with the little weird things, I'm liking this radio a lot. Subscribe: http://... Check out our site: http://... 4 days into this, I feel burned out, I have not gotten much sleep. I'm starting to feel the joy of having this new radio slipping away. I just want things to work. It was starting to feel like a lot of crap..... HOWEVER toward the end of day 4 things are starting to look up... At this point I'm still on the fence regarding if this is radio is worth it or not, but DogParkSDR is most surely not.
Is it unreasonable to have certain expectations when you spend thousands of dollars on something? Well you get the direction this is going haha. There is so much I love about the Flex, yet so many issues I just can't believe it. Still plugging along though and still on the fence about if the good out weighs the bad. Is it a keeper? I'm not sure yet, perhaps it is. Would I recommend it? At this
I finally purchased a FlexRadio, In an effort to combat the noise levels at my QTH. It's one of the many upgrades I'm making to my shack. FlexRadio has a 30 day return policy, so if in the end I really don't like it, I will send it back. It's off to a bumpy start. Attempting to get everything working on a 2010 iMac with 16gb of ram Looking forward to really getting back on the air. Subscribe:
The afternoon of Friday, April 17, 2020, Bruce Maxson Banwell passed away at the age of 82. He and his contagious smile will be dearly missed by every life he touched. He lived a very full life, with the biggest, closest family you could possibly ask for. This slideshow captures just a few of the many memories he made with only a few of the many, many people he loved. Subscribe: http://... Check
Our grandpa, Bruce Banwell, passed away on April 17th, 2020. Since we can't all be together right now, some of our good friends arranged a drive-by parade and went by our house and gave us some love and encouragement. Subscribe: http://... So I've been working on getting my ham shack up and running again. I've put up a new doublet antenna in place of the inverted V I previously had. I've been using the MFJ 993B tuner, and I've been able to hear signal and tune all the bands, from 6 meters all the way to 160 meters. I talk about this in a little more depth and also give some more updates on my ham radio shack. :-) Subscribe:
This is just a video discussing the ways that COVID-19 has affected me and my family personally. I talk about some of the other lonely times in my life that this quarantine has recalled to mind, and thus reminding me that, this too shall pass. ;-) Subscribe: http://... It's almost been 2 months since we've gotten to just get together with Autumn and Mike like this. Just spending the day trying some liquor, talking about stocks and showing off my set of genuine silver coins, and discussing me and Mike's little talk show, Just 2 Guys. :-) Then we attempt to chop some wood. Because that's what you do, when you have nothing to do ;-) Subscribe: http://... Check
In this video, I very *passionately* give what's been my experience with the Rockwood Geo Pro 19FBS... and it hasn't been a good one. I've discovered the warranty is worthless because the service center at the RV dealership I purchased from did nothing to help fix the numerous issues with my camper. So, there was really no point in buying a brand new travel trailer. Subscribe: http://... Check
Our good friend Josh graduated and had a great beach-themed party. Lots of good times with family and friends - food, donuts, dancing and musical chairs. Congratulations, Josh! The 73rd day of our trip we depart from Las Vegas, New Mexico, where we stayed in a massive Walmart parking lot the night previous. So if you're ever in the Las Vegas, NM area, the Walmart is a nice quiet place with good cell service. :-) Then we get on the road again and make our way to Garden City, Kansas.
